Design concepts for a book written by journalist Paul Gravett, chronicling the history of Japanese comics. I tried to convey qualities and typical elements of Manga in an un-typical way, instead of relying on the age old "big eyes/speedlines/giant robots" stereotype, opting for a more subtle approach in design.
